Aim and Scope<\/h5>

The International Journal of Organ Transplantation Medicine (IJOTM)<\/em> is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, English-language journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across the full field of transplantation medicine. The journal welcomes contributions that advance scientific understanding, improve clinical practice, and address emerging challenges in organ and tissue transplantation.<\/p>

IJOTM publishes work in basic science, translational research, clinical medicine, surgery, and population-based investigation related to transplantation. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, organ and tissue donation; donor evaluation and selection; procurement, preservation, perfusion, and allocation; surgical and perioperative aspects of transplantation; transplant immunology, immunogenetics, and genomics; immunosuppressive therapy and transplant pharmacology; graft survival and prevention of graft dysfunction and failure; infectious complications; post-transplant malignancy; cell and tissue transplantation; outcomes research; clinical trials; epidemiology; ethical, psychosocial, and societal issues; and xenotransplantation.<\/p>

The journal particularly values submissions that are methodologically sound, clinically relevant, and capable of informing transplantation practice, policy, or future research.<\/p>

Types of Articles<\/h5>

IJOTM considers a range of article types in transplantation medicine.<\/p>

Original Articles<\/em> present full-length reports of basic, translational, or clinical research.<\/p>

Short Communications<\/em> report concise but important findings. These should be prepared in the same general format as original articles. The Editorial Board reserves the right to determine whether a submission is more appropriately handled as a short communication.<\/p>

Case Reports<\/em> are considered when they provide substantial clinical insight, describe unusual presentations, highlight novel management approaches, or offer educational value for the transplant community.<\/p>

Review Articles<\/em> are generally invited; however, authors wishing to submit a review are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office before preparing the manuscript.<\/p>

Letters to the Editor<\/em> are welcome. Letters should not exceed 400 words, should include no more than three authors and five references, and should address a topic of clear scholarly or clinical interest.<\/p>

All submissions are considered on the understanding that the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere in any language. All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution to the work and must accept responsibility for the content of the manuscript. Authors are expected to comply with applicable ethical standards for human and animal research, obtain ethics committee approval when required, secure informed consent where appropriate, and disclose any conflicts of interest or financial relationships relevant to the work.<\/p>

How to Submit<\/h5>

Authors may submit their manuscripts by sending the article files as email attachments<\/em> to: editassist@booali.org<\/a><\/em><\/p>

The submission email should include the manuscript title, article type, the name of the corresponding author, and full contact details. All required files should be attached at the time of submission.<\/p>

Manuscript Preparation<\/h5>

Manuscripts should be written in clear, accurate English and arranged in the following order:<\/p>

Title Page<\/em>
Abstract and Keywords<\/em>
Main Text<\/em>
Acknowledgments<\/em>
References<\/em>
Figure Legends<\/em>
Tables<\/em><\/p>

Pages should be numbered consecutively beginning with the title page.<\/p>

Figures must be provided as separate electronic files and should only be included when they contribute meaningfully to the understanding of the manuscript. The Editor reserves the right to limit the number of figures. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to publish any identifiable patient images or any copyrighted material reproduced from other sources.<\/p>

Image files should be submitted at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi<\/em>. Preferred formats include JPG, GIF, TIF,<\/em> or PCX<\/em>. Color figures are welcome and should be prepared in CMYK<\/em> mode. Graphs are preferably prepared in Microsoft Excel<\/em>. If figure quality is inadequate or redrawing is required, the journal may request the original data files. Any identifying information visible on radiographs, scans, pathology images, or similar materials must be removed before submission.<\/p>

Title Page<\/h5>

The title page should include the following:<\/p>

the full title of the manuscript, preferably not more than 15 words;
the full names of all authors;
the departments and institutions with which the authors are affiliated;
a short running title;
the total word count from the Introduction through the Acknowledgments;
the number of tables and figures;
a conflict of interest statement;
details of financial or material support, including grants, equipment, or drugs;
and the complete contact information of the corresponding author, including mailing address, telephone number, and email address.<\/p>

Abstract and Keywords<\/h5>

The abstract page should include the abstract, 3 to 5 keywords<\/em>, and the abstract word count. Keywords should preferably be selected from MeSH<\/em> terms.<\/p>

For original articles and short communications, the abstract should be structured under the following headings:<\/p>

Background<\/em>
Objective<\/em>
Methods<\/em>
Results<\/em>
Conclusion<\/em><\/p>

The abstract should not exceed 250 words<\/em>.<\/p>

Main Text<\/h5>

The main text should normally be organized as:<\/p>

Introduction<\/em>
Materials and Methods<\/em> or Patients and Methods<\/em>
Results<\/em>
Discussion<\/em>
Acknowledgments<\/em><\/p>

All abbreviations must be defined at first mention, including those already used in the abstract.<\/p>

The Introduction<\/em> should briefly summarize relevant literature, explain the rationale for the study, and clearly state the research question, hypothesis, or objective.<\/p>

The Materials and Methods<\/em> section should provide enough detail to allow other researchers to understand and reproduce the work. Established methods may be cited, but any modifications should be described clearly.<\/p>

The Results<\/em> section should present the findings in a logical order. Important results should be emphasized first. Data should not be repeated unnecessarily across the text, tables, and figures.<\/p>

The Discussion<\/em> should interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain their clinical or scientific significance, and address study limitations as well as the conclusions that can reasonably be drawn.<\/p>

The Acknowledgments<\/em> section should identify contributors who do not meet authorship criteria and should also recognize financial or material support.<\/p>

References<\/h5>

References in the text, tables, and figure legends should be cited using Arabic numerals in square brackets<\/em>. The reference list should appear on a separate page and should be numbered in the order in which references first appear in the text.<\/p>

Only published work and manuscripts formally accepted for publication should be included in the reference list. Personal communications, unpublished data, and manuscripts in preparation should be mentioned in the text only and should not appear as numbered references.<\/p>

For works with four or fewer authors<\/em>, list all authors. For works with five or more authors<\/em>, list the first three authors followed by et al.<\/em> Journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus<\/em> style.<\/p>

Tables<\/h5>

Each table should be typed double-spaced on a separate page and numbered consecutively in the order of citation in the text. Vertical lines should not be used. Every table should have a concise and informative title and should be understandable without extensive reference to the text. Each table must be cited in the manuscript.<\/p>

Figure Legends<\/h5>

A legend should be provided for every figure. Figure legends should be typed double-spaced on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Each legend should clearly identify the figure number and explain all symbols, arrows, letters, or other markings used in the image. For photomicrographs, the legend should include the magnification and staining method where relevant.<\/p>

Submission Checklist<\/h5>

Before submitting, authors should ensure that:<\/p>

the manuscript is original, is not under review elsewhere, and has not been published previously;
the files are prepared in the required formats;
figures are high resolution and suitable for publication;
all funding sources and conflicts of interest are disclosed on the title page;
ethical approval and informed consent statements are included where applicable;
the manuscript follows the journal\u2019s stylistic and bibliographic requirements.<\/p>

Copyright and License<\/h5>

Authors publishing in IJOTM retain copyright in their work. By submitting and publishing with the journal, authors grant IJOTM the right to publish, distribute, and archive the article as part of the journal record. All published content is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)<\/em> license, which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.<\/p>

The Editorial Office reserves the right to make editorial and stylistic revisions to accepted manuscripts and to assign the article to the most appropriate publication category.<\/p>

Privacy Statement<\/h5>

Any names, email addresses, and other personal information provided to the journal will be used solely for editorial, peer review, and publication purposes.
